Copy/Pasting MIDI crashes 10.3.5
I discovered a problem today:
If I copy and paste MIDI data that contains any pitch wheel cc data, my PT 10.3.5 session crashes! I was attempting to copy a 2 bar phrase once. The MIDI track's pitch wheel cc lane break point was drawn at -4560 to pitch a sample down in Kontakt 5.3. The moment I tried to paste the phrase, the "beach ball" starts spinning and I have to force quit and restart. How can I keep this from happening? What I've tried so far: -Trashed prefs. (session still crashes). -Saved as new session, (session still crashes). Pro Mac 2.26 Intel Quad Core Duo Mac OS 10.6.8 17GB RAM Pro Tools HD 10.3.5 Any helpful suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Re: Copy/Pasting MIDI crashes 10.3.5
I remember getting a similar crash a few versions ago which was something to do with real-time properties - do you have any real-time properties applied to the region/track in question?

I don't have any RTP enabled.
Thank you for your thoughts on this issue. |

Re: Copy/Pasting MIDI crashes 10.3.5
Well I just created a -4560 pitch bend on my system (10.3.7 HD, OSX 10.7.5 MacPro 2.66 2xDual-Core Xeon) and it copies and pastes just fine. So either this is a bug that was fixed in 10.3.6/7 or it's something specific to your system. If you strip the session back just to the MIDI track with no plugins at all does it still happen?

Re: Copy/Pasting MIDI crashes 10.3.5
Is there a reason why you choose to run 10.3.5 as the latest version is 10.3.7 and I myself always check for new version if I encounter strange trouble such as this?
Also, is there a reason why you have chosen to keep using Snow Leopard? PT10/11 run great in Mountain Lion and now with Mavericks as well.

Re: Copy/Pasting MIDI crashes 10.3.5
Thank you for responses!
I created another session with only one MIDI track. If I copy and paste a MIDI track with the pitch control at -4060, there's no problem. So, I'm investigating other causes. I am on OS 10.6.8 because of a couple older VIs and plugins that don't work in OS 10.7+ (i.e. NI B4 II ) I considering PT 10.3.7 but, I'm in pause mode with updates until I finish my current projects. Also, I don't want to run PT 11 on my TDM rig. I could have missed something but, I haven't read about any fixes in 10.3.7 that will improve my workflow. Let me know if I'm missing something! |

Check the compatibility documents about 10.3.7 and 10.6.8 and if they say go I'd say you should update.
