I delete prefs and the Database open session then system crashes 8.0.1

I have posted this in another thread but get looked over.

"After I delete prefs and the Database and open that session it crashes the whole system.
But after a few tries it plays nice until the play/pause thing come up again."

Very frustraded.

Philip888,

We have a thread going on this very thing in the 003,002,M-Box section of the forum.

Right now Digi is thinking it's plug-in related. I'm not so sure unless it is a current Digi Plug-in causing the problem. I have either updated or removed any questionable plug-ins and still see the issue.

I can still get work done because things are always fine after the second restart following Preferences and Database deletion.

interesting, I had a protools crash during launch after trashing pref's and databases recently on 8.0.1 as well but after the initial failed launch everything has worked fine since. Is this happening every time you launch protools since you trashed everything?

Try moving the Massey plug-ins to the unused folder and see if this makes a difference.

Tom thanks for throwing me something.

I have waited for Digi to answer one of these posts but they don't.

Maybe if I was an LE or HD user well whatever.

Your suggestion did make a difference.

I have a particular session that was crashing my whole system.

In the session in question, I am using Kore Player 2.1.

And after the update to 8.0.1 opening the session would crash my system.

I moved the massey plugs to the unused plugs folder. Deleted the prefs and Database files. Opened the session in question and it fired right up.

But the Play/Pause issue is still there though.

I have to uncheck and check the notification box in the playback engine for it to work.

Then if I add another instance of the Kore Player the Play/Pause issue comes back.


But again thanks Tom for taking the time to help me.

Brilliant - it is indeed the Massey plug-ins causing this problem. Putting them in the Plug-ins (unused) stops the crash after deleting Presferences and Database issue in LE too.

Yea, a few of the Massey plugs have given us a little issue since the PT8 release. Check to see if he has new versions out, as he has been aware of this issue. I haven't looked in a while.
