master level
MacPro MacOS 10.8.5 and HD3 TDM v 10.3.7
Should I keep the master fader at 0dB? See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mcw4U-9O5o Last edited by songman; 05-30-2024 at 03:51 AM. |

Re: master level
Put it wherever you need it. The most important thing is to not hit the red on the Master Track meter. My personal observation: if I need to pull it down more than 3-4db, I will either lower everything in the mix(except AUX tracks fed by Post-Fade sends), insert a Trim plugin to knock down the level on the master, or(preferred) insert the Trim plugin(default to -8db) on every Audio and Instrument track.

Re: master level
Use pre-fader metering to see if levels are too hot. Then use trim if some track is too hot.
