Default Unable to Search a Network Drive via the Import Audio Dialog Box

Hello all,

Just got a new PT10 HD system and a Mac Pro. We have our sound library on a networked drive and in the past (iMac, PT8LE) I've been able to search that drive via the Import Audio function (Command-shift-I). Now, however, when I type my search word into the search box... nothing happens. No spinning wheel o' search, nothing.

It does search and find files on the local drives.

I know I can have this type of functionality via the Workspace; however, I do like the Import Audio option sometimes.

Anyone have any ideas why Import Audio would not search a network drive?

Thanks!
lt

It's not disabled, but it's possible Spotlight hasn't indexed that volume.

Anyone know how to force Spotlight to index a volume?

It looks like Apple broke the ability to search network volumes when they released Lion. Which is fine. I mean, why would I ever want to search a networked drive with thousands of files on it?

At this point there are only 3rd party solutions (like EasyFind), though that doesn't work in the Import window. Hopefully once Apple stops making toys they'll fix their OS.
