waves plugins not showing up in inserts

Hey guys,
running pt 8.0 le on a Mac PPC G5 dual 2.0 10.5.8

Trying to open my waves 7.0.2, looks like it loads ok on launch but no inserts show up in the menu, only the air and others show up. Any help would be greatly appriciated, im gonna try waves support too thx.

waves 7.0.2 is out of date and updates are available at Waves.com for registered owners. I suggest you update as that will solve your problems.

This is false and has nothing to do with the reason.
i am currently having this problem on a mac pro but the waves on my macbook pro (also 7) work fine so that is not the problem.

Could it be that you are trying to add a Waves plugin to a stereo track, but the plugin you want is only available as dual-mono? I know a few of the Waves plugins(like the SSL bus compressor) can only be selected(for a stereo track) from the dual-mono plugin section. Are the WaveShell files found in your Digidesign/DAE/Plugins folder?

I'm having the same problem and yes my waves are present in the Audio Suite menu. I Have Protools 9HD & Waves 9, im totally stumped on how to use the plugins outside of the Audio Suite, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried contacting Waves Support?

There's a key you can hold down during Pro Tools boot which which will present a waves dialogue which may help you, I don't remember it off the top of my head, you can rescan etc.

You're spot on Dougfather, Here's what MelAlstonJr said in a mail to me:

"I found the solution thanks for respsonding. I had to hold down the shift key while Pro Tool boots up, then unselect do not load RTAS."

It's been a function in PT since the dawn of time.

But it's been so long I didn't remember.
