Default G3B&W + ATTOcard + Cheetah-Can I use FWB?

Hello,

I currently am having minor problems. If my hard drive is on when I try to boot up my computer, all I get is a grey screen. If I keep my drive off, boot up, then use FWB mounter, the drive will mount to the desktop. It really isnt a problem, but it worries me a little. Would reformatting the drive change this?

I just got the computer and ATTO card. I was using the drive with my old system and didnt want to reformat it. I looked on the compatabillity docs, I coudnt find anything about using the ATTO instead of FWB software to format. I have the FWB INIT disabled, the computer would hang on start up if I had both the ATTO and FWB INITs loading at startup.

MacOS 8.6
ATTO Dual Channel W/ PT Express Software

thanks in advance
