-9171 and -9172 errors with Pro Tools HD 10.3 on HDX

No issues since 10.3.3 BUT I haven't been using it heavily the last few days.

Yes, the new interface could have been the solution. It's very hard to say. I'm sorry this is such a nightmare for so many people. So many people are avoiding updating their systems just because of this.

I've using a Big Ben on my HD 16x16 and get the -9171's
My main culprit is Kontakt with the Abbey Road drums, can't play them unless at 512 buffer. Steve Slate EX work great at 256 buffer. This is all on the new update 10.3.3

I clock externally to an Antelope Isochrone Trinity a HDX1 with Avid 16x16 i/o in a 12 core MacPro.

I get these errors inconsistently when using the MDW AAX DSP PI, specifically clicking to open the GUI (latest version from GM himself) it's irritating rather than show stopping i.e. system doesn't crash it just stops playback. Then you start again and it's OK. Apart from that this system is bullet proof stable.

Nothing like you guys are reporting and apart from that it's a mega stable rig better than my old G5 8.01cs2 which was very stable.

I have been talking to Avid support on this and have a case open etc but the festive season has kicked in so I will not be able to follow up till I'm back to work. Also GM and MDW who have been very helpful thus far in trying to resolve it.

BUT I haven't tried the new 10.3.3 although just installed. I'm off now for the festive season.

I'm hoping to be able to report that in 2013 and 10.3.3 it's gone for good.

Updated to PT HDX 10.3.3 today and still 9171 all the time

Did you do all the recommended procedures ?

Trash all prefs

No I did not, I just installed and did not read the "read me". Will do next

Same here. Nothing changed. Right after play shows up the 9172.

No I did not. I just installed on top of it. How to uninstall ? Can I just trash the Avid folder? or only Pro Tools Folder? Thanks!

Go to Applications>Avid>Pro Tools>Pro Tools Utilties>Uninstall Pro Tools app
Make sure you select CLEAN INSTALL!
Then Reinstall 10.3.3
