Default Audio Regions List is empty....

When trying to use the "delete unused regions" command I've discovered that the audio regions list is empty...yet the audio files are in the sessions folder...anyone know why this is happening? I'm using version 6.4 if it matters....thanks.

When you choose to delete selected regions, you are given the option to either "remove from session" or "delete from disk." If you really, really want to blow away the selected audio files and never retrieve them ever again (EVER!), than choose delete from disk. If you choose "remove from session" the regions are gone from the session, but the audio files remain in the Audio Files folder.

the problem is that the actual "region list" is empty. nothing is there. I have this problem with 3 out of 6 song sessions I'm working on. I know the regions are there...they just don't show up in the region list.

anyone know how to fix this??

Click on the Audio tab, above the regions list, and select --> Show --> Auto Created Regions

Does that help ??

there is no "show auto created regions" in the list.....I see "show file names", "disk names", "full path"...but nothing shows when I select those.

I've even tried importing new audio into the session just to check and it wont appear in the region list but it appears in the audio folder.

??????

Reaching in the dark here, but do you use the Search function? If a search comes up with no response, the list appears empty. Also, in 7.x the search is continuous meaning that it continues to search until you tell it to stop and any new regions added that don't match the search criteria will not show. This is an annoying "feature" IMO.

Martin.. put your cursor anywhere in the timeline, with your regions list open, and hold Option+Cmd while hitting "K"

What happens??? anything ?

Also... make sure "Regions" (Above regions list) Show --> Audio is checked.

Also Martin.. (If you're still looking here) I Just caught the part where you're on 6.4

The menu's have changed drastically since then.

The places I was telling you to look, we're all PT7 menu locations.

in 6.4 - all of that stuff is in the "Display" menu across the top if memory serves me correctly.

Happy editing.
