Default Increase & reduce H/W buffer size errors

Does anyone know what to do when you use amplitube and keep getting an error message telling you to increase the h/w buffer size, and then once you do that and resume what you were doing, you get ANOTHER error message telling you to decrease the h/w buffer size??? And so on and so forth.

Thanks,

Nikki

Nikki, out of curiosity are you using reason in these sessions that are giving you trouble with amplitube?

hey Tim, i have problems with amplitube when i'm running a malstrom in reason. only workaround i found was to just record malstrom track( thats if you are using a malstrom) to a new audio track in protools, then get rid of the malstrom in your reason rack. you might want to make a copy of your reason session before you start removing reason devices . close both programs and reopen. open the new song without the malstrom . This is what i did with my reason amplitube problem

I'm not using reason in those particular sessions.

The only workaround I have found so far is to decrease the buffer size to level 2 (the default level).

Except in rare cases, the DAE playback buffer should be used at the default (2). This is very different from the H/W buffer, which frequently needs attention.

Nikki,
If you are running anything less than an AMD 64 3200+ , then I usually recommend upgrading. Especially if you are using a P4 processor. Makes a world of difference.
