Default 98 to XP Plugins question

I have been running PT LE 5.1.1 on my 98 machine. I want to make the switch to XP. Will all my Plug Ins still work on that move?? Is there a specific version I should upgrade to so that they are all still compatible?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I am using 001.

Are you upgrading PTLE as well, or just your OS? What plug-ins do you use?

You will most definately have to download plugin updates from the manufacturer's websites for 3rd party plugins that you own, any Digi plugin's will be new, with the new installer.

You've got some "work to do" re-formatting, installing XP, Pro-Tools 5.1.1 (is for 98/ME) and has to be upgraded to, 5.3.1 for XP, if you own a digi 001, I reccomend spending the $35 on 6.4, download the CS6 and CS9 updates, and install them.

Look through the F.A.Q.'s and support sections, of sites of the pluggin manufacturers for any plugin's / packages you own, to attain updates for the version of pluggins that you have.

You may even be forced to "upgrade" if you wish to continue using some, contact the manufacturers directly at this point, and some of your old pluggins, might still "Just work"

if you have pro-tools "crashing on load" problems after the upgrade.... it's likely an old plugin, I'd update everything that you own first.
