002 as control surface only
Does anybody know whether it's possible to use an 002 as a control surface only? For example, if I have an 003 rack, but want to occasionally use the faders?

I don't believe that's possible. You would need the Command 8. The 003 console has standalone midi control surface function, but I've never heard of anyone getting it to work.
