After much soul searching I have decided that I'm really going to struggle to replace the C24 so I'm keeping it.

I had 3 issues I was concerned about,

1. Trying to find a multi-daw solution
2. Downsize to aid workflow
3. End of support for C24

After LOTS of research and a very long discussion with a pro audio dealer, I came to the conclusion that there really was only 1 route to take and that would be Pro Tools Dock, S3 and a monitor controller.

Reading hundreds of forum threads on all this made me realise I would be swapping one set of (minor) issues for another. There's basically 5 years of support left for the C24 and who knows what we'll all be using then.

I think I having been trying to fix something that isn't broken and trying to forward guess something that impossible to guess.

What made me realise this was, a year ago, I didn't own a single Steinberg product. Now, on my Surface Pro, I use Cubase Pro 9.5, Dorico and Wavelab. All because they fit the bill for my requirements at the time.

At the minute PT is still my go to app for 95% of my studio work, but 5 years is a long time.

The C24 has been, and still is, rock solid, so why change?
