Default Real-Time De-Breath Plugin?

Are there any de-breath plugins that can run real-time in Pro Tools? The RX and Waves ones cause too much latency to keep the delay-compensation working. Do any have low enough latency? I do not want to process this offline through the AudioSuite.

Realtime as in can use while monitoring singer, no. Realtime as in no need for AudioSuite, yes.

Have you tried ERA De-Essefr already?

Era De-Breath is what you want to try, not the De-Esser.

Unsure of the latency of that plugin. Try the demo.

Also, are you sure it’s just the de-breath plugins that are pushing your delay comp over the limit? I’ve used the Waves de-breath plugin in the past and don’t recall it exceeding the delay compensation limit. Do you perhaps have some other noise reduction plugins etc. on the tracks?

100%. If I create a new pro tools session and add just one single Waves DeBreath plugin, it's over the limit. It's using 32384 samples for buffer (according to the mixer window).

Cool, I'm going to download the demo and try it out, then report back.

Yeah, these type of plugins that employ large look ahead buffers tend to be problematic in real time usage.

I honestly didn’t think it was that large with Waves De-Breath. I own it and tried it a few times but never really liked the results so just went back to manually de-breathing. To be fair, I probably just used it isolated and rendered the results. It’s been a while so hard to remember.

Definitely try Era De-Breath and see how you go. You may find that it suffers the same issue. I know the RX one does add a fair bit of delay as well.

I'll play devil's advocate here and suggest using a little EQ to exaggerate it so the performer can hear and correct the issue instead of trying to put a band aid on it. Its similar to folks that think its a good plan to sing with AutoTune on instead of improving(so they don't need it at all or as much).

There are also some other ideas to solve the issue on the way in. A few ideas to try:
1-use a better(or 2) pop filters
2-rotate the mic slightly
3-angle the mic downward and raise it a bit.
