Default Selecting a track record enables it

Hi!

I've got a wierd issue here. When i select a track, or multiple tracks, either via the edit or mixer window, the selected track(s) are record enables for some reason, And i can't figure out why! I've looked through all the settings and options, atleast i think so. And i find no option that matches what's happening. I've also googles a bit with no luck at all.

Can you guys help me out? it's really annoying!
Thanks!

Shift-R will toggle Record Enable on selected tracks. Perhaps it has to do with the keyboard language. It may be misinterpreting selection as selection+Shift+R on an English keyboard. Only thing I can think of.

This, or a stuck key on the keyboard?

I apologize if I'm misreading the thread, but has anyone discovered a permanent solution for this? The Shift+R toggle certainly does disable record, however every time I navigate away and back to the track in question it becomes re-enabled.

I am just returning to PT after years of using other DAWs so I'm playing around with a session template to become re-familiarized. Could this be a template problem? I'm using PT 9.0.6 I believe.

So this is happening on an instrument track that I'm writing midi notes to. I'm wondering if this is instrument track specific, as other zany stuff is going on. When I play a note the record-enable temporarily goes away, then returns when the note is released. When I play some lower octave notes it goes away entirely! Sometimes other instrument tracks become enabled but I have no groups selected.

I'm beginning to consider that this may be a HyperControl issue as I am using an AxiomPro49 and haven't really learned its quirks yet. Anyone?

I think PT is automatically enabling anything with a virtual instrument inserted on the channel so that you can immediately begin auditioning it (hearing it). That makes sense, and is actually quite helpful.

It's always passed MIDI through any selected MIDI track, but without enabling record. I think you guys are seeing a new and somewhat rare bug that only affects certain systems.

Having the same exact issue on my PT9.0.6 HD. This makes no sense. I haven't updated Pro Tools in the last month at least, have not authorized any downloads or auto update feature nor been asked to type in my password as if I was installing or changing a current installation. How is this happening?
