CPU error (-9128) after system sits idle for a min
This has been only getting worse it seems. I am running M Powered 7.3.1 on an AMD 3400+ 64 x2 and getting the running out of CPU error- not when I start the project and it plays back but when I hit stop and step away for a minute or longer. If I keep playing the project and continuously edit, usually I have no problems. My system usage meter stays out of the red until it has had a minute or longer to sit idle and then when I hit play, all of a sudden I have to get out of pro tools and restart the program in order to get it to play back again. Anyone know what to do?

Sounds like you are letting your drives "go to sleep".
What are your power options for your hard drives set to? They should be set to "Never" when using Pro Tools.

That sounds like what it probably is. How do I go about changing the hard drive options? |

Re: CPU error (-9128) after system sits idle for a
Control Panel->Power Options
Under "Turn Off Hard Disks" set it to "Never". This, and other important configuration information are covered in the Getting Started Guide.

Re: CPU error (-9128) after system sits idle for a
Unfortunaltey, it seems I've already had it set to "never". I wonder if it could be one of my external drives? Or does that option just go across to all drives on the system? |
