Default Need help with setting buffer size for interface.

I have a 003 Rack and was wondering when I open my Core Audio Driver there are settings for the hardware (003). What should I set my buffer size too because when I go to use other programs (Live, Garage Band, Reason, Record), what should I set my buffer size to in relation to the Audio Core? Am I explaining this correctly? I shouldn't have to change the buffer in Core Audio every time I get to mix down do I? I have it set to 128 right now. Is this for audio coming only? I'm soooooo confused. Nothing sounds different.
Help.

Low buffer for recording (low latency and very little processing going on during recording)

Higher buffer for mixing (latency not a problem and high processor usage during mixing)

And yes you do have to change the buffer depending on the project size, what yopu are doing, etc.....

Changing the buffer will not change the sound at all, just make the machine run more effeciantly depending on the task it is given.

I know 1ace1 about latency. My question is if I change the buffer in say, Reason, will it also change my buffer in Core Audio to the same setting or do I need to change it also in Core Audio?
It sounds like a little more work that's all.

I don't think it does change the core audio settings.

The Stand alone Core Audio always opens on the dock when using third party software so that the buffer etc... can be accessed.

Ok, so that means all I have to do is go to the audio core on my dock to change my buffer size and this will also change in say, Reason?
