SOLVED - Check bottom post
I tried testing out these shortcuts with both Automation Follows Edit turned on and off and they don't seem to do anything for me. I'm referring to: Clear, including all automation playlists*: Command+Control+B Copy, including all automation playlists*: Control+C or Command+Control+C Cut, including all automation playlists*: Control+X or Command+Control+X Duplicate and extend edit selection including all automation playlists*:Command+Option+Control+ Shift+D Duplicate including all automation playlists*: Command+Control+D Insert Silence including all automation playlists*: Command+Control+Shift+E Can anyone explain how these are supposed to work and what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I think those are valid when AFE is off.

That’s what I assumed but they still either perform the function without the control key or nothing at all. Anyone know?

What exactly isn't working? These are basic commands that have always done what they say and work as expected here. If you're in waveform view and you copy and paste a clip it will carry the underlying automation with it unless AFE is disabled. Perhaps check in Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts to make sure that nothing's gotten corrupted there.

Everything looks right in keyboard shortcuts. I only use the stock configuration.
My main confusion is are these supposed to be used when AFE is off? When AFE is on, if you open any automation lanes, you will see that the edit selection already extends into all automation lanes, which makes sense. When it is off, the edit selection doesn't extend as "clips and automation are edited separately." So my assumption was that when AFE is off if you can use these shortcuts to edit all automation data on your track without it being part of your edit selection. So here's what happens when I try each of the shortcuts with AFE off: Clear, including all automation playlists: Clip cleared, all automation playlist data remains, Edit menu undo state displays "Clear" Copy, including all automation playlists: Clip copied but without automation data, edit menu undo state displays "Copy" Cut, including all automation playlists: Clip cut but without automation data, edit menu undo state displays "Cut" Duplicate and extend edit selection including all automation playlists: Clip is duplicated but without automation data, edit menu undo state displays "Duplicate and extend edit selection" Duplicate including all automation playlists: Nothing happens so no undo state! EDIT: Command Control D has a conflict baked deep into MacOS. Here's how to disable in terminal. ..... after disabling, using this shortcut duplicates the clip but without automation data, the edit menu undo state shows "duplicate" Insert Silence including all automation playlists: Silence is inserted but all automation playlists remain, edit menu undo state shows "insert silence" Can anyone clarify how these are supposed to work? Thanks :) SOLVED: Just figured it out! These shortcuts are actually equally useful with AFE on or off. When making an edit selection in one of the automation lanes, using one of these shortcuts extends the edit to all automation lanes without the visual representation of the edit selection.
