Hey Steven ! How are you ?
Thanks for your reply, I have thinked about anyone is going to reply this topic. To complement this discussion, you work with two monitors? In Pro Tools Le and Final Cut ? Or General for in the Mac OS and all softs ? (Using a second monitor port for the RT MAC, shure!) [This message has been edited by Renato (edited April 17, 2001).] |

To my surprise, the Digi001 has no conflicts with my RTMac so far. I am running a 400MHz Sawtooth G4 with 448 megs of RAM. I am also running an Adaptec 29160n SCSI card with no problems. Hope this helps.

i am using fcp 2.0 with rtmac and pro tools le and no problems. i have a g4 450 dual with 512 mb ram. u will need a separate hard drive for video capture and rendering. a 7200rpm internal ide is sufficient.

Renato,
I use the dual monitor setup for everything, audio, video, web (Flash, etc), word processing, etc. The RTMac does occasionally offer me a higher resolution, but other than that, is rock-solid. steven |

Little off-topic for this forum, but could anyone give me a quick review of the RT Mac? Does it truly render in "real-time?" And how much? All transitions or only some? Moving text, objects, etc.? Is this all real-time at full res/frame rate also?
Thanks, kc |

The RTMac is a PCI card that acts as both a real-time accelerator and a second video card. Your most popular transition are in real-time (if nothing else, good old cross-disolve), as are your typical motion effects (opacity, scale, position, etc.). It previews in real-time at full framerate and very high quality resolution. It comes with a breakout box that allows you to capture analog, but even better, to connect to your monitor/deck without having to have your camera in the loop. I'm really pleased with it.

Thanks, Steven. I think I may have to make that purchase happen.
Good day. kc |
