Default Two 002\'s together?

Hey guys Im really embaressed to even ask this, but I am having a discussion with I client who insist that two 002's can be hooked up together for a total of 16 inputs.
I think this is impossible but heck anybody could be wrong. So I will throw it out their.
Has anyone been able to make this happen?
