11R Booting Issue

Hi all,

New user of 11R (V 2.0.1, Build 0.1.5.7) and really like it.

I use 11R as a standalone (no Pro-tools, but use editor). I notice that when I turn on the 11R it sometimes gets stuck on the 'boot up' screen. This happens whether the 11R is connected to my computer by USB or not. The frequency of this happening is about one in 3 times.

If I turn off the 11R and turn it on again it boots up ok.

There are a couple of threads on this matter, but they appear slightly different (the 11R wouldn't properly re-boot when it was re-started).

This is annoying rather than a major issue.

Should I save my rigs and do a factory re-set?

You should try that and if it does not work perfectly afterwards and the unit was new you should contact Avid or an Avid authorized repair center for a warranty repair. If you do not get it repaired under waranty any later repair costs say if it starts getting worse will likely mean you just throw the box out. If you purchased it used then you may have discovered why it was sold, and may want to dispute the sale.
