Will pt5 with G4/400 work with HUI???

Using pt5 along with Mac OS8.6,G4/400 (not sawtooth)USB serial port adapters keyspan or Giffin G-port, and MOTU express XT or Mini Macman. Will PT5 work with HUI??
After REPEATED calls to Mackie and to Digidesign customer support we still can't get an answer!!
This is one hell of an expensive talkback system!

PT 5 works with HUI. And it did with a G4/400 PCI graphics version....

I recently upgraded to a g4/400 (yosemite) running protools 5.0 . I installed a griifin g-port in the modem slot and my hui works fine via my mtp-av.

Mackie is pretty much done with the HUI, from what I've heard. So don't count on that expansion port ever being put to use.

I've heard people having problems with the express XT interface, but maybe that's just a coincidence. Keyspann adapters do not work with Midi, but the G-Port does. I'm running it with my HUI and 5.0, no problem, however through an opcode 64xtc.

What are the Chances that Mackie will incorporate a USB Port on newer versions of the HUI?

Would be nice to be able to plug it right into a USB port and would probably work Faster!!!

Scott, check out this link: www.geethree.com Its the ADB port solution for your G4, and it costs 50 bucks. You can connect your non USB midi interface there with your HUI and it will work.

I've been using this for months on a B&W G3 with no problems (EMagic Unitor8, used for Logix & PT). The only problem is you lose your internal modem if you have one! - I did a bit of research a few months ago, and it seems this is the best way to go (for midi anyway - things may have changed with new USB interfaces, but it sounded like many of them were having teething problems!).
