Default Aligning bar beat marker to specific timecode in 7.4

Is this doable. It takes me about 3 seconds to do this in Logic. I have been fumbling aroubnd in PT for about an hour now. I have video with a one second pre roll. I adjusted my session start to 00.59.59.00 then ballparked my tempo and found bar 3 and measured it to be 5 sec and 17 frames from the start so I backed up the session start by that amount. bar three is now about 1/4 frame off 1:00:00:00. I am trying wiggling the tempo at bar one but cant seem to dial it in. Any help?

You might get a quicker answer for this in the Post forum. A 1/4 frame @ 30 fps is 8.34ms which is equal to about a 64th note at 112.4999 bpm. It might be better off for you to adjust the session back another 1/4 frame and get back to work. The math will drive you crazy and I don't know if any of the people you're doing the work for will be able to feel 1/4 frame. If that's not an option then you could be adjusting thousandths of a beat in the bpm value to get it to line up!

Thanks

I had success but way more complex than in logic. I ballparked via the session start time and then tweaked the start tempo till it lined up. I would freak out scoring a cartoon this way! FYI there is no subframe resolution in the session start offset. Thanks!

Yeah, that would make it a little difficult to slide it a 1/4 frame then wouldn't it!

If I understand your question:

- Set your session start to 00:59:59:00
- Move your cursor to 1:00:00:00
- Use Event | Identify Beat (cmd-I) and tell it that it's bar 1|1|000
