Default Win98 version

When will the Win98 version be out? I'm having a computer built for me and I am wondering about computer requirements. Will I need a sound card? Which sound card would you recomend? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Jonny

Check the earlier thread by "ender" (feb 11) called "Windows support" also in the Digi001 forum. That's where we are for now (I'm waiting too !)

Cheers

There will be Wave output drivers for the 001 (midi too), so you don't absolutely need another sound card, but for things like the regular system sounds, web browsing, etc., you might want to get the computer with whatever simple sound card comes with it. When you're running ProTools (or another audio app), it's useful to have the system beeps and bells come through another sound card rather than the 001, as only one app can use the card at a time.

There will not be DirectSound drivers included in the first Win98 release.
