Question about simultaneous inputs on mbox 2 pro
Hey guys,
Im pretty new to pro tools as i own a boss 16 track recorder but when i can afford it il be getting an mbox interface and getting into pro tools LE. Just have a query with how the simultaneous inputs work.. With the Mbox 2 Pro, it says 6 inputs for simultaneous recording, but only the 2 x 1/4" input jacks on the front have the knobs to control the input level/sensitivity. How to you control the input level of the other 4 inputs? Also, (this will be much clearer when i finally get Pro Tools) when you get 6 inputs recording simultaneously, does pro tools automatically put them into 6 separate tracks? I really should wait till i get it but its playing in my head and i just want to clear this up now. Thanks guys! |

Re: Question about simultaneous inputs on mbox 2 pro
With mbox 2 pro you have: input 1, input 2, aux input (stereo), spdif input. All inputs except spdif adjustable (look at the knobs at the front of mbox).

Re: Question about simultaneous inputs on mbox 2 pro
So how do you adjust the AUX input? Say your using the 2 front inputs, which have there own control knobs, and the AUX input.
Thanks heaps for that by the way! |

Re: Question about simultaneous inputs on mbox 2 pro
k, mbox pro is switchable between the DI input(ont the front of the box)1 and 2. the XLR connections are on the back sharing channel 1 and 2 when switched. both channels have separate input controls and effect the switched(DI or mic). these controls disable the pre when turned to zero. channels 3 and 4 are 1/4 inch bal/unbal shared by the same input control i believe. channel 5 and 6 are spdif in. (meaning you must have a spdif card on your channels strip or pre etc....in order to use all of the inputs simultaneously. in PT you can record all 6 at once and /or assign to different tracks.. cheers...

Re: Question about simultaneous inputs on mbox 2 pro
Hi all,
I bought a MBOX 2 Pro recently and I´m a little bit confused how to use 6 inputs simultaneously (without using spdif inputs). Is it possible? I´ve already used inputs 1&2 (XLR) and also inputs 3&4 (AUX), both are on the back of interface. So, in total I´m currently using 4 inputs. My question is, Can I use inputs 1&2 (DI) to get 6 inputs simultaneous? Best Regards. Alan Macieira |
