Default Blackmagic cards with vanilla Pro Tools 10

OK, I have access to HDX suites with Blackmagic 4K extreme video cards.

However I need to do some prep and tracklaying in my own wee set-up that runs standard Pro Tools v10 with Lynx cards and converters on a 2010 Mac Pro desktop (final aluminium chassis model) - so its non-HD(X). It's a favour for a friend working for a skint charity (Scottish Refugee Council if you must know). I would like some video playback to an external HDMI monitor but I am getting confused about Pro Tools compatibility on Blackmagic cards.

Please someone provide a definitive answer! If I buy the basic Blackmagic DeckLink mini monitor PCI-e card will it work with my system or does the Pro Tools flavour have to be HD?

Thanks in advance.

Ronan.
