Default Plugins won't show on my brand new PT 10

I just installed PT 10 (as a upgrade from PT 8) and there are no native plugins. Audio suite says "None" in its menu and I can't add any plugins in the Mix window either.

I own a Mac Book Pro running Mountain Lion IOS.

How can I solve this?

Thank you!!!

Did you completely uninstall PT8?
Have you deleted databases and preferences?

This problem is not uncommon with Mountain Lion. Anybody know the cause? A fix?
A clean install doesn't seem to fix it.

backup your plugins and presets first!

the fix is a total uninstall of pro tools and any file/folder.

so you also have to delete any avid/digidesign folder under applications and in the library.

just using the app uninstaller won´t help in most cases!

to not loose plugins/presets, copy them first to a different location!

After installing (and uninstalling and re-installing) PT 10, there were NO PLUG-INS available within PT. Very strange. Here are the steps I took, which seem to have fixed things.

1. In Applications/Avid/Pro Tools, there were two folder aliases (folder aliases are indicated by a folder with a tiny arrow), labeled "AAX Plug-ins" and "DPM Plug-ins". I right-clicked on the aliases to "Show Original", and found the original folders located at "Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-ins" and "Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-ins".
2. I deleted the aliases.
3. in Applications/Avid/Pro Tools, I created a new folder called "Plug-ins".
4. I copied the contents of the original DPM Plug-ins folder to the newly created "Plug-ins" folder. I also copied a few plug-ins from the original AAX Plug-ins folder, such as Channel Strip and Mod Delay III.

Hopefully this helps other people with the same problem.
