Opening a recently used session from the Dashboard causes PT 12.5 to crash

Possible bug found this morning on Pro Tools 12.5. When booting PT today I tried to load a recent mix session from the start up splash screen. Pro Tools crashed immediately... I have replicated the same crash several times. It does not happen, however, if you open the same session via the open from disk menu or indeed if you open a recent session from within pro tools.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

I can confirm this. It happens with me too. I need to open from disk and not from the splash screen or it crashes.

If you hold down the SHIFT key while opening the session, does it still crash?

Yep still crashes,makes no difference so it's definitely not a plugin issue. Any other ideas? It never happened in 12.4 ... Thanks

Yep done all the usual stuff before posting it as a potential bug ... Just a thought, I don't have my work Mac Pro connected to the Internet, I'm going to connect it now to see if that may be the cause

Ok, I can confirm that it works fine if connected to the net... That would appear to be the solution... Question is, how would you stop that so that it behaves normally without the net connection as being connected interferes with my artist control and mix units

Are you saying if you use the RECENT tab in the Dashboard to open a Session, then PT will crash?

I am not seeing this behavior on my system (Windows). Both SESSIONS and PROJECTS open fine from the Dashboard.

I would try trashing prefs as suggested.

It's not prefs, but it is opening from the Dashboard > Recent tab correct?

I unhooked my computer from the internet to test this and I am now getting an error when trying to open a SESSION from Recent in the dashboard. No crash, just an error.

Oddly enough, I am able to open PROJECTS from the Dashboard > Recent with no problems. I guess technically Projects shouldn't even be showing since I'm not connected to the net.

Also, as others have said, I am able to open a SESSION from FILE > Open Session or FILE > OPEN RECENT. And as soon as I connect to the internet, Dashboard > Recent works as it should.

Looks to be a bug.
