Default Windows 22H2 - Yes or No?

First, I know it's better to wait to update, so that's not what I'm asking.

I'm asking whether anyone has specific information that their system is still running great or having issues AFTER updating to the latest version of Windows.

So, Microsoft is coming out with its semi-annual major update to Windows and it's sitting in my Windows Update.

Wondering whether it's safe to update when my system is so stable right now.
Anyone having issues after updating?

Thanks in advance for anyone sharing their experience updating to 22H2, good or bad.

Best answer….backup your system drive first, then if the update doesn’t work, you can recover. I had a Windows update wipe out my video card drivers more than once, easy to fix, thankfully. Always have a backup plan!!

I mainly use macOS now for PT (Hackintosh), but I did update yesterday and everything seems to work fine so far. PT HDX 2022.9 works fine as far as plugins and mixing. Haven't tried recording anything live though I don't see why that should present a problem if all else is working as expected. I do recommend backing up your system first before updating your OS be it a Mac or Windows system.

I'm not going to Win 11 on my mixing rig until it's supported by AVID. However, 11 works fine on my other computers.

My Windows 11 Pro rig is showing Version 21H2. Windows updates have not pushed out the 22H2 update to me yet. No rush!

I just upgraded Win 10 Pro to 21H2 without issue running PT Ultimate 2022.9. The big problem is keeping Windows from upgrading itself without giving you a chance to say no. According to Microsoft Windows is a service, not a product so they do as they wish. There is a way of locking this down where it won’t upgrade, I did it running release 1909 back in 2020. Can’t remember how I did it, just Googled how and remember it was about 4-5 places in the OS I made changes including the registry. Apparently my changes are still there because after I upgraded to 21H2 this week it complained that my automatic updates were turned off. Runs fine!

I'm using 22H2 with 2022.10.0 and all seem to be fine.
