New Mixing Product for PT HD called "HEAT"
We are very excited about releasing a new product today called HEAT. It adds the ability to add analogue warmth to the Pro Tools HD mix bus (which a lot of users have asked for over the years), across all the audio channels. You can download a demo audio file to listen to it and also a 30 day trial version here:

As benoni said, there's so many plugins that do this already. "If it sounds good, it is good" but I wonder if you're too late. And why are the longtime customers punished? $500 is pretty nasty for the guys that have been supporting you for years.

Re: New Mixing Product for PT HD called "HEAT"
HEAT is cool, what is nice is that it is already built into the channel-strip---you either turn it on or off. It does take up A LOT of resources and it is free to those buying new systems, or you can buy it for $495. You have to hear raw audio, the online demos don't do it justice. I have heard it, it is very cool----but I don't know that everyone will feel the same based on the amount of DSP it uses. IMHO I think each person will have to ultimately evaluate it on their own. Personally, I think it's worth it when needed.... but I also already own McDSP Analog Channel and Phoenix---so I don't know that I would personally spend $495 on it if I had to. But again, you might feel differently.

The upcoming Slate digital VCC collection looks promising, and it's native.
I realize that plug is not simulating tape, but console character. But it might improve the sound in a similar fashion. |

Re: New Mixing Product for PT HD called "HEAT"
You can download a mix (on the link above) that was done in the box that cuts between three different settings. I was involved in making the mixes and really appreciated what HEAT was doing in the mix and didn't want to turn it off...

Re: New Mixing Product for PT HD called "HEAT"
thanks. Sounds good. so will this be another HD only feature like ADC, or could it possibly be integrated with the new LE interfaces with a DSP chip in them, ala the Eleven Rack? And no, i dont expect an answer
