Default Elementary Digidesign 192 Question

I just got a 192 (had previously used a Rosetta 800 with XHD card) and see it has two DIGIDESIGN AES/EBU-TDIF-ADAT cards in it. I need analog in and out. What additional card(s) do I need? Thank You. -c

Do you have a 192 or a 192D?
If it's a 192 you need to find AD and DA cards that fit the 192 and they are no longer available new, the cards from the HD I/Os will not work
If it is a 192D you can not add Ad and DA card, the PSU is not designed to power them. You can put other AD/DAs in front of the 192D

Thank you Craig,
The sticker says:
PRODUCT: 192 DIGITAL I/O
SERIAL NO: SU00936 REV G
MODEL NO: MH192-DIO

So I believe I have a 192 and not a 192D. I'll search eBay (etc) for the AD and DA cards that fit this 192. What exactly do I search for -i.e. what is the formal name for these cards? Are they Digidesign only or do other people make them too? Thanks!

You cannot add analog cards to the device you own. A 192 Digital looks like the other 192, but it will not allow you to expand beyond the actual cards you now have.

Sorry

Yes, you have a 192D not a 192
if it was a 192 it would say PRODUCT: 192 I/O

Buy and Sell here on the DUC, eBay, or a broker for a 192
There are some 3rd party options like your Rosetta had, same places for used

Thanks for an informative thread....I'm starting to look at 192's as I'm going to add one to my system soon....Same as the thread starter, I too didn't realize you couldn't add analog cards to a 192d...I just thought that it originally came with just the digital ports and you could add others as you needed them.....I'm glad to learn this as there are currently more used 192d units for sale than a standard 192 on ebay....Now I know why!....Sorry to the original poster you didn't find out before the purchase....moon

The good news is if you just recently bought your 192 digital used, chances are you can resell on ebay or possibly craigslist and get what you paid or at least close to it. Depends on what city you are in. From my experience, craigslist is a great place to sell used pro audio gear if you're in LA, however in other cities YMMV. Ebay will work from anywhere though, so you're covered no matter where you live.

Thanks to all..
I was able to return the 192D (very nice guy)
Just wondering what are the interface options I have to get my Accel system working. All I need is 2 analog ins and 2 analog outs for now. From what I know theres:

Digidesign 192 analog
Rosetta 800 with XHD

Any other options?
Thanks again in advance. -c
