But at times you want to change as clients ask for more dynamic or less dynamic mixes.
Verses doing it with Speaker Sets as referenced on Jeff's link, I'd recommend doing it with Folddown setups.

Few reasons:
  • If you have multiple speakers calibrated as outputs (and calibrated to match), you can apply these folddowns (truly "trims") to any of them.
  • Only 3 (Main, Alt1, Alt2) speaker outputs are accessible from Eucon whereas you can have a lot more folddowns. There is a limit but I don't know what it is but they are all accessible from the Control Monitoring tab (swipe to see more)
  • Following the above Eucon note about Speaker outputs, folddowns show their naming. The speaker outputs only show one of the 3 above. So you can actually see which setup you are recalling with folddowns on the Monitoring tab.

Hello Jeff or anyone who can chime in. The speaker delay on the SPQ page is in milliseconds? So for example 6ms would be entered as 6.00, and 12.23ms be 12.23 etc, correct?

Thanks so much.

I was wondering if there is a video out there about speaker tuning with the MTRX. I'm about to get into that with a 7.1.4 setup and there really isn't much information about saving different tunings and the steps that one might go through in order to do that. If there is some more detailed information than what is in the videos so far I'd love to know. Thank you.
How about 3? Check out my new series How To Set Up The DAD/Avid SPQ Card Using The Free Room EQ Wizard

Hope this helps,

Hi Jeff,

I have been researching a gigabit router but not clear which one to get. A lot of them seem to be primarily for wi-fi, and also I am not sure if they will play nice with Dante. Do you have any recommendations? I want to have a DHCP server on my Dante only 'network Currently it is set with Static IPs using a different ethernet port to my main network with internet access.

Thanks,

Mike

I think there are several different solutions depending on the use case. For more critical Dante environments, Audinate recommendeds the SG350 series of managed switches which do include integrated DHCP server capabilities. This is probably overkill for the guy with MTRX ST, DVS, and maybe an AVIO. In that case, some of the simple TP-Link routers have worked just fine for me. You can certainly disable the wireless radios if you are not using them.

Is there a way to lock the HDX card to 48Khz or lock it to the MTRX Studio? If Pro Tools is open, the HDX card follows the session, so that isn't an issue. When I try to open the Advanced window in the Avid ASIO driver the host/parent process is killed, so I haven't been able to set the HDX card sample rate outside of Pro Tools. It seems to default to 44.1 for new processes.

Hi there!
Came across the same problem. I do not get the asio driver set to 48khz when I want to use it with third party DAW.
Is there a solution for this?

Thanks, Dominik
