Re: McDSP Analog ch. vs FATSO
Hey Moosh,
Figured someone would have posted to you by now on this one. I'm a little biased, but here are some generals on the AC vs. FATSO hardware: - FATSO, as its pre-digital, can certainly act as the pre that Analog Channel (AC for short) cannot. - While FATSO gives you a series of comp curves, AC displays them, and allows adjustment of attack and release (on FATSO they are fixed as per the curve). - AC has playback head selection - Sony, MCI, Ampex, Tascam, Studer, Otari - all in one device. Again the UI displays the changes as head bump and low freq roll off are changed. - AC gets many channel of processing by virture of being a plugIn (TDM, RTAS, AS), FATSO is a two channel box. ...there is a demo on our web site now at www.mcdsp.com. Checking out AC for a while may help you in your decision. Of course I vote for the green gizmo! Colin McDowell McDSP LLC member 4/26/2001 |

Re: McDSP Analog ch. vs FATSO
I gotta try this...maybe over the weekend I'll have time to download it. The compbank is the one I always reach for (mouse for?)first, so I'm hoping AC lives up to at least "most" of it's claim...

Re: McDSP Analog ch. vs FATSO
What if someone doesn't have a modem on their Mac. Do Plug-In Manufacturers have demos available on CD? I sure would love to try these out. Especially the McDSP plugs. I wish I could've tried out TC Works before I bought it. Man, what a waste of money! I know that some demos come with Pro Tools. I loaded those on the Mac when I first bought Pro Tools, but my Mac took a **** a day or so later and had to go to the repair shop. By the time I got it back, most of the plug ins expired. I know, sad story.
