Default How to record a track with VST

Never used a VST to record in pro tools.
Got fxpansion so the VST's now appear in pro tools.

Now what's the easiest way to record into it?
Instrument track?

I create an instrument track and get volume levels, but can't seem to record anything to it.

PLease help

Ur not quite explaining urself or what ur doing correctly; a VST is a plug in format like RTAS or AU...

Your VST plugin will act like an RTAS plugin after you have wrapped it using the FXpansion program. Assuming this is a virtual instrument (e.g. a synth) then you would insert the wrapped VST plugin into an instrument track, check your midi setup, record enable your track, and hit record. If it's an effect plugin (e.g. reverb, delay, etc.) you would just insert it into a track and use it as normal.

There might be some plugins which don't function correctly using the wrapper but I think these are probably in the minority. If you still have a problem, it might be best to check if there is a support forum for the VST plugin.
