The Snare Drum
Ok, so the go-to mic for snare is the SM57, right? Well this weekend, I wanted to try something new, so I used a Sennheiser e609. I LOVED IT. It sounded great. Would it sound great for everything? No, probably not, but for this pop-punk-kinda-rock band, it brought the snare right where it needed to go.
Which got me wondering... I wonder who else has success with other microphones, or even, who has tried other and has not had success. Post the stories! I wanna hear em, and I'm sure others do as well. |
