Creating drum patterns in Strike?
I'm looking into drum software for my Pro Tools LE 8.0 system. I'm currently using the Redrum in Reason and I'm not too pleased with the results (drum sounds are crap). I've looked into Strike, but I'm not sure of its ability to allow you to create your own patterns from scratch. I've looked at previous threads here, but they aren't conclusive. I looked at some online reviews. Here is what one of them had to say:

Re: Creating drum patterns in Strike?
I'm looking for better acoustic drum sounds because I can get plenty of electronic sounds out of the Redrum in Reason. I'm ok with not being able to import third party samples into Strike, assuming the acoustic drum sounds are that good. I read somewhere that they don't have brush sounds. Did they include brush sounds in the expansion pack? Thanks for the feedback Benoni and Filosofem.

Interestingly enough the expansion pack doesn't contain brushes.

Re: Creating drum patterns in Strike?
Well, [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]damndiddymodon! That is one strike against (pun intended). I will do a little research on Drumagog to see what that is all about. What I want to know in more detail about Strike is if I can create patterns in real time on the fly by playing keys on my MIDI controller while a click track is rolling, or can I only create patterns by cutting, copying, pasting, erasing, and drawing. At this point I'm leaning towards getting the Reason Drum Kits 2.0. I think they will allow me to create patterns the way I want. I'm still waiting for a response back from Propellerheads tech support. Thanks all.

Re: Creating drum patterns in Strike?
Very good question lou and sadly no. The Style Editor does not have MIDI Input. Transfuser does what you want. Ummm... no seriously, you might want to take a look at FXpansion BFD 2.
