Default What controller protocol for E-MU Xboard?


Anybodye knows what midi protocol to use with E-MU Xboard 16 knobs midi keyboard to controll volume in Protools?

If what you're asking is to be able to control the volume of faders in a PT session (channels, sends, auxes), the answer is you can't; not from a standard midi controller like the X Board.

If you're trying to control parameters in a plugin like a synth or a sampler, then it's basic CC messages. Whatever plugin you're using should have come with a list of the CC values and their corresponding parameters. If not, then the manufacturer's website probably has them.

That's not true at all.

You can, but it's a lot of work. You need to reprogram the XBoard to function like a CS-10 controller, and then download the legacy CS-10 controller profile and set Pro Tools up to use that profile.

I've done it with several other MIDI controllers, the Axiom 25 being the most recent, and I have some tutorials on the PT Help page linked in my signature.
