Default Pro Tools 6.4 for Live Situation

Ok, so I do live sound for a worship band out at my church. It's a contemporary service with a rock band and such. NExt week they will be playing a show outside of the church, and I'm not sure what to do because the board we use at the church is a 24-channel, 8-bus behringer board. Nothing too fancy, I know, but we only use 12 channels, and I can't see the purpose of unplugging everything going into that board, lugging it on the road for a 2 hour show.
So, renting came to mind. But THEN, i thought about it yesterday and wondered.... could I set up 12 aux tracks going into my pro tools system (002r running 6.4, with a behringer adat 8-channel preamp) and send the signals out the outputs to a poweramp? would this work?
I know my CPU can handle it, that's not the problem. My question to whomever will answer is, will I run into any problems that immediately come to mind? This should work, shouldn't it?
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Cory.

I think your setup should work fine. I know lots of people who use their DAW setups as effects processors live instead of bringing hardware racks to the show. The only thing that I would be concerned about is the system's latency. If you leave the 002r on 64 samples I imagine no one will notice a thing.

Should work fine. Can you test in your church before you hit the road?

Renting a 12-16 channel board should cost you less than 50 bucks. I'd rather do that then yank my PT system and put my live sound in the hands of Bill Gates.
