Default NI Action Strings
I was just listening to Native Instruments new Action Strings and wondering if anyone has tried them or has heard anything about them? i have not used any NI plugins or bundles exept for Kontakt 3 to play samples we bought and some was given to us by Dre and Timbo so we haven't had any other experiences with NI. Do they have the million dollar sounds it sounds like or is it just great programming from the demo guys you think

I would say programming for the demo guys. I have EWQLSO, IK Miraslov Philharmonik, and NI Session Strings Pro that came with K8U. IMO, EW is hands down the best in terms of articulations and sound quality. It seems that NI chose the ease of making a quick demo with a smaller library over competing with the extremely large and authentic libraries like EWQLSO. It that regard it definitely has it place.

I don't have Action Strings but the NI music demos sound like Session Strings Pro only with action movie arpeggios. Other than that, K8U is the centerpiece of my productions.

Better yet have you tried the VE Pro 5 demo? VE has made my life so much easier; I regret not buying it months ago. Being able to go between PT sessions without having to close and reload the VE template is worth the buy alone.

Vienna is very useful here, but how do you get around the added latency? I find that if I lower the number of buffers for VEP it causes occasional slight dropouts when I'm at lower buffers (256 or lower).

I want to try what you are suggesting, Sampa, but I have messed up because of Kontakt crash together with Pro Tools 10.
I have dragged some of the Kontakt files on the desktop and I do not remember in which folder they supposed to be.
The files (endings) on my desktop are: Kontakt5: 8out.vst,dpm, component, 16out. Where is the home for these tiny files?
