Default Locking a Specific Track's Height?

Hi there.

Is it possible to lock the height of specific tracks?

Using PT Studio 2022.10.0 on Mojave

Thanks,

Sparky

As in the height view? Not that I’m aware of.

But, each track can be a different height, so unless your accidentally triggering a shortcut to change the height of all tracks, there’s probably no real need to lock it.

Not possible. You can opt-click a trackname to select all tracks, cmd-click tracks to deselect them, and change height of the selected tracks while holding opt-shift - none of the deselected tracks will change height.

+1 for window configs.
Usually short term for A/B editing (Melodyne or not)
Long term for window arrangements.

The reason I’d like to lock individual tracks is while mixing - I often decide certain tracks make the whole song too busy or the track just doesn’t work…

I’ve started inactivating those tracks and putting them in micro mode - but still like them to be visible so I don’t completely forget about them in case I want to come back to them and/or maybe use parts of these tracks…

Often I’ll make various other tracks larger while working on them - then return them all to small. The inactive tracks will resize to the same size as all the ones I’m using - taking up real estate

Sparky…

If you use the correct shortcuts (like Ben pointed out) that will not happen.

I can see locking would be useful in your circumstance, but there are ways to achieve what you’re after and as mentioned, track heights unfortunately can’t be locked.

Just tried this - and it's absolutely perfect.

1 click, and I'm back to having all the tracks return to the various heights I had previously...

Thank you danyg for the excellent suggestion!
