If you downloaded the full version install of 8.0.3... you shouldn't need any previous version of PT. So to say, if you downloaded a file that is around 1GB in size (I don't know exactly how big it should be as I have no downloaded it myself yet), you should have the full installer. This means, you should uninstall your previous version, and install 8.0.3 by itself.

Even if you found the "upgrade" to 8, that should also be installed fresh. The biggest misconception about 8 seems to be that it is an "upgrade" from previous versions, while it is actually a full install of Pro Tools that should be installed from scratch.

There were no problems 'upgrading' to 8.0 on my PC.

8.0.3 won't install without a previous version of 8.

8.0 and 8.0.1 is not compatible with Snow Leopard. I have a two day old Mac, so besides reverting to Leopard, what's the answer?

I'm downloading 8.0.1 to see if it works.

Digidesign are ultimately responsible for shipping 7.4 discs with Mbox 2's, but i think the retailer will be my first port of call if this doesn't work.

This is BS!

£109.00 for a v8.0 disk. It'll be free, or they can have the ******* thing back!

8.0 and 8.0.1 won't officially work in Snow Leopard but you can install them. Some have had moderate success using pre 8.0.3 versions with SL, other not so much.

If you download a file from your Digi account of around 4.5GB for 8.0.3 then you won't need any previous versions. If you need a previous version then that will need to be 8.0.1.

The Full installer is listed in the My Digi account to download. If You are already registered and have your update for 8, it should be there. Also when I bought my PT i got 7.4 but if you bought it after such and such a date when you register it is a free upgrade.

The point is, I can't find the link for 8.0 anywhere.

I upgraded to 8.0 on my PC, but i can't find the Mac link. The only information is that I need to buy the DVD.

You can return to your Pro Tools 8 downloads at any time after activation by logging into your account:
http://account.avid.com

Click on "Your Products" in your account AFTER activation has been completed. Your downloads should be there if you have already used your activation code.

You can also find any unused activation codes in your account, such as the "Pro Tools 8 Third Party Content" by clicking on “Products Not Yet Downloaded”. This would be for any products not yet activated. An activation code can only be used one time, it cannot be reused.

I checked your account, and since you already activated your Pro Tools LE 8.0 Upgrade back in April, all of the downloads are there for Mac and Windows, including these when you click on the "Downloads" link underneath your listing for Pro Tools LE 8.0 Upgrade Amnesty:

Quote:
Pro Tools LE 8.0 Full Installer (Mac OS 10.5 for PowerPC & Intel) supports LE interfaces including original Mbox 4152.55 MB

Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 Full Installer (Mac OS 10.5/10.6 for Intel) does not support original Mbox or PowerPC 4793.4 MB

Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 Full Installer (Windows) does not support original Mbox 3414.5 MB

Pro Tools LE 8.0 Full Installer (Windows) supports LE interfaces including original Mbox 3327.81 MB
