Default Is this the best way to reamp with Mbox 3?

Hey folks,

So I tried reamping with Mbox 3 (4x4) yesterday and ran into a bit of a feedback loop. As I lay in bed that night, I pondered about the problem and came up with a solution.

The problem was: I had my DI track recorded in Cubase that I was sending out from my left analog out of Mbox to X-Amp reamper. Then the signal went to the tube amp. The mic signal from the amp came into the Analog in of the Mbox and was going out of Analog out again creating a bit of a loop. I unplugged the mic and there was no more feedback.

I think this would work: Muting all tracks except for DI track in Cubase (same as before), sending the DI track to left analog out (same as before), setting mic input to be on right width (haven't looked into how this would work, im sure there is a way), finally recording on the right in from Cubase.

The question is, is this the best way?
The other solution is if I could figure out to NOT route what coming in from the in to the analog outs. Don't know how this could be set up (if it can be).
Another thing I was thinking of was making use of SPDIF, but I have never used this before in my life. How would that work?

Didn't mean to blabber on so long but help would be greatly appreciated guys.

Cheers

SPDIF might be a good option, IF(great big IF) you could find a SPDIF IO box, and that's not so easy. Personally, I just don't see the Mbox line is conducive to reamping, so if you have a method that works, I'd say roll with it 2 other options that could make life easier; Trade up to an interface with more IO(like a used 003rack) or do your reamping in the box with Amplitube, Waves GTR or similar. Those plugins are getting to be really good!
