weird button issue

COMMAND + SPACE BAR no longer send PT into record?? ANybody else have this? ways to fix it? Also I can't seem to find my pro tools preferences file if I want to trash it...

Go to System Prefs then to Spotlight and see if the Spotlight shortcut is enabled. It uses Cmd-Spacebar as a Mac OS default. Unchecking that should restore normal operation.
For pref trashing use the Pro Tools Pref and Database Helper app. Goggle it or search the forum.

Hmm. That's the only thing that came to mind. Hopefully someone else has a suggestion.

Totally random, but check your International>Input Menu Preferences......I had the same problem and had switched to a Cyrillic keyboard and then forgot to switch it back. Once I switched back to English, command-spacebar worked again......it would be a miracle if that was your problem too but you never know.

who knew!!!!!!!!

That was it, there was a preference for apple + space bar to switch between input languages. Switched it to US extended, problem solved!!

Wow. Great!!
Yes, now I remember: Main computer in the shop, had to put the HD core card into my old G5 for an ADR session and I finally noticed the keyboard icon switching everytime I pressed command-space
