Crash/Freezing constantly in 2024.6 + 2024.3.1

Hi all, hoping y'all might be able to help me out here. I've been running into constant crashes or freezes on both 24.6 and 24.3.1.

After trying the normal steps of trashing prefs, removing 3rd party plugins, and rolling back PT, I took the plunge to wipe my computer completely and roll back the OS to 13.6.7 Ventura and PT to 2024.3.1. All plugins are up to date and were installed fresh - nothing migrated from Time Machine.

I'm still running into the crashes/freezes and have noticed a couple things:
- Usually happens in sessions with virtual instruments (doesn't matter which ones). I've had PT crash when I'm running 3 VIs + Master Fader, and nothing else. Typically I'll have 5-10 VIs in a session when it crashes.
- Activity Monitor shows a huge spike in Pro Tools CPU usage when it occurs
- Crashes don't seem to follow a pattern. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm changing a setting in a plugin, or simply copy+pasting a waveform.
- CPU heavy mix sessions seem to run fine. Again, it mainly seems like an issue when I'm producing with VIs.

Here's a dropbox link to the latest crashlogs. Sometimes occurrences happen every 30 minutes or just a couple times a day. But it's really starting to eat away at my ability to work.

Quick update:

a couple remote sessions with Avid determined it was a "permissions" related issue - we thought we solved this by creating and using another user account.

Unfortunately I ran into the same crash + freeze bug last night on the new account. I'll be installing 2023.12.1 for now, but would still appreciate if someone could look at these crashlogs!

I have the same issue. Problem is, if you downgrade to a previous version and you are using ARA (I am using it with melodyne), those ARA settings are lost as 2024.6 uses some newer version that isnt compatible.

So another update, hoping this solved the problem.

The permissions issue got me thinking and I ran First Aid in Disk Utility on all of my drives - this found an error with the drive I use for samples. After repairing this, PT 2024.3.1 on Ventura 13.6.7 hasn't crashed yet (fingers crossed).

Alright. Well, this is a bummer but I've run in the same issue again. I haven't updated any plugins or PT but sessions have been crashing once I start using VIs again.

My current solution has been to downgrade PT to 2023.12.1 - this seems to be stable (let's hope).

Wanted to post in case anyone from Avid is looking - please do what you can to fix this issue in the next update. I'm not the only one running into this.

Have you tried a different drive for your samples? Might be a physical issue with your drive or even firmware related if it's an SSD?
