Re: Loopback issue
I'm on Windows, so the computer audio part may be a little different, but here is what I do to get something like audio from YouTube into Pro Tools.
1.) Open MBox Control and select the Loopback tab, then check the 'Loopback Enable' checkbox. In the Hardware Input section, you should see ADAT 7/8 is now highlighted. In the Software Input section, you should also see Internal 7 and Internal 8 highlighted.
2.) In the Hardware Output section of MBox Control, select ADAT 7/8. Your faders should all turn red indicating that you are now setting the levels for ADAT 7/8. Ensure that the Internal 7 and Internal 8 faders are turned up at least to 0.0.
3.) Now go to your OS audio output and route your computer audio to Output 7-8. On Windows it shows as Output 7-8 (Avid MBox Studio). At this point, if you play something from YouTube, you should see the meters in MBox Control jumping on Internal 7 and 8 as well as ADAT 7/8. If you do not see this, then you are not routing your computer audio correctly to the loopback inputs.
4.) Open Pro Tools, open a session and add a new stereo audio track. Set the input for that track to ADAT 7-8. On my system it shows as ADAT 7-8 (Stereo). Now if you enable input monitoring, you should see the meters bouncing and hear audio. You will now be able to record this audio as well.
