Default Pro Tools 10 Crashes when using Pencil Tool

Hey Folks,

It just happend an urgent problem.
For all the time, until now, the pencil tool worked fine and properly. But suddenly Pro Tools 10.3.10 crashes when I use it directly on the audio file.

Editing clip gain and volume automation still works.
I tried restarting Pro Tools, restarting Imac, shutting everything down for half an hour, tried other clips.

Nothing changed. Still crashing!

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Philipp

Note: It seem to happen to only one audio file but on different clips of the same audio file.

Try trashing prefs (because always) and then Save Session In and see if that helps. Or try importing content into a new session.

Thanks for your replies. Trashing prefs didn't improve the problem.

But consolidating the clip, worked well. Easy and good idea!

It did not fixes the bug but works for now!

Thanks!

Maybe it's important to others one day...

This might be an general pro tools bug.
If checked it on PT 10.3.10 an PT 12.4.0

This problem happens only to mxf audio files which are link to an referenced AAF.

The first tries in 'fresh' audio are alway lucky. You can do it up to 59 times after that PT crashes.

I also check a consolidated clip. The pencil tool works perfect for more than 100 times.
