Default pitch \'n\' time/SPEED question

I have a song that I want to bump up maybe 5-10 bpms..

a) If I get pitch n time or speed, will the end result add any weird artifacts to the song? or will the quality be degraded in any way?

b) is it better to apply the bpm change on ALL the tracks or wait until mix down and apply it to my 2 track master?

c) what plugin would be better for the job? Pitch 'n' Time or SPEED?

Thanks!
Keith

I've never used SPEED, but Serato Pitch 'n Time works quite well as long as you don't try to go too far. I think a 10% change like you are thinking about will work good. I just sped up a few full mixes for a variety show and the results were great.

There's quite a lot about serato pitch n time in the post section (or there used to be). I tried the demo out about a year ago and found that it generated artefacts in human voices - a metallic edge. But it was better dealing with music. Still, it's what they use when converting a 24fps movie to a 25fps TV prog for Europe so it must be good. There's a free demo - give that a go.

Do a search here for Kingfish's post on Vegas Audio a while back - he was very impressed as I recall.
