Default Why do 002 have so poor windows support?

I mean, all audio interfaces I tried always completely support windows environnement, even games. I can't even listen to a mp3 in winamp without a glitch on the 002 rack. I have a sound blaster audigy card, it's just annoying having to swap my headphoes all the time... The only workaround I found is to monitor my 002 via my soundblaster but I don't like it much.

Probably a system that is not composed of qualified components.
Digi hardware requires an enviornment that is tailored properly, a bit of a different "state of mind" than when using other apps.

I prefer this approach, and there are those that share my point of view.
Those that dont like this aspect either move on, or bite the bullet and concede.

first, remove the sound blaster card right away. it's probably wasting an irq and is un-needed.
download the asio driver for protools here then the asio for winamp winamp here then put the .exe and .dll into your winamp plug-in directory.
Go into winamp's preferences, output, and click the ASIO output. winamp will now route through your main outs of your protools hardware. to have everything route through protools (video games, internet, streaming) you need wavedriver, and it's available here

good luck

OK- reread what you were saying...

I have a similar situation. I have PT LE on my bedroom system, but also use GigaStudio, and love to play a nice first-person shooter every now and then, as well as playing mp3's.

I have my 002r for doing PT LE, a MOTU 2408mkII for Giga, and then an SB LIve! 5.1 for all the other stuff.

So- how do I use one set of speakers for it all?
Samson C Control.
Route all the outputs from those into that, single set of speakers. Walla!
Should be able to find one for like $99, less for used.

Other choice is to grab a mini line mixer cheap, and do the same thing.

Yeah, it can suck, or be a PITA, but thats life.
