Finally Upgrading My Digi
Hello all,
I am finally thinking about upgrading my digi001 to the 002 rack factory w/production toolkit. With my current 001 i am using a ad that runs at 24/48 thru the midi light pipe. I also have a tube preamp that will do 24/96 thru spdif. Now, one of the main reasons I am upgrading is to have the 96khz sample rate. Won't my current ad converter pull the whole system down to 48khz? the 001 does 24/48. So, besides the obvious software and plugin upgrades, will it be worth it? Having second thoughts unless I can find an ad converter in my price range. thanks Mike |

The 002 and 002r have better ad/da and pre's as the 001 has.

"Being able to use the newest version of ptle with all its new plugins etc etc.
The 002 and 002r have better ad/da and pre's as the 001 has. " Ditto. Also you will be able to use your tube pre at 96k thru spdif.. As far as ADAT light pipe goes, you are correct that they only go to 48k...(certainly not a dealbreaker for most users... If your system can handle 96k than fine, but most of your sound comes from what is in front of the AD) Good Luck! |

Re: Finally Upgrading My Digi
I'd suggest you hang with the 001 for a few more months. Tracking at 44.1 / 24 works good and I don't think you will miss much when you get back to a CD at 44.1 / 16. I have the 001 and the 002R and I'm not loving the 002R that much, I need mobility and I can't get it to run below 512 buffer.
As long as you aren't using the 001 pre or converters I don't think you are missing much. Wait for the 003 or the 002R PRO, at least. .02 |

Re: Finally Upgrading My Digi
Remember though, digi extended the Turbocharge LE upgrade plan to 20th Dec and it's a great deal.
I recall that it's £955 GRP for a registered 001 owner to get a new 002 Factory with the Music Production Toolkit, which presents quite a saving and it should be even cheaper for the 002 version. Sonny |

" Wait for the 003 or the 002R PRO "
Pure speculation.... Music can't wait for the next advance in Digi hardware! |
