Emptying Waves Cache - Who Knew? - Not me...
Hello everyone...
Just discovered a feature that was slowing down my Waves plugins in a session. In the "Waves Central" dialogue box - on the left-hand side under "Settings" - there is a section called "Maintenance" In this section, you can "Clear Central cache" - never knew this was here. I had 1.6 GB stored here. I emptied mine and things are running much better with the Waves plugins... Just thought I'd pass this on... Thanks, Sparky |

Re: Emptying Waves Cache - Who Knew? - Not me...
That Central cache is the download cache that the Waves installer uses, Has nothing to do with the performance of the plugins inside Pro Tools (unless you are dangerously low on disk space)

Perhaps it’s a coincidence then… after clearing this cache my Waves plug-ins are more responsive… Thanks Sparky |

Still not bad to clear all that drive space.

Pretty shure I posted here a few hours ago.

Curious if you noticed any changes or improvements in using your Waves plugins after you emptied your cache...? Sparky |

This is something that happens more and more as plugin developers make their own 'plugin managers'. Worst case I've seen is Acustica Audio, they have a folder in your home folder called 'Soundstage' where they store all AA installer files, and it comes quickly to several dusin GBs. I use DaisyDisk to easily see what takes up space on my disks.
