I don't think it would have been possible to bend this part without that massive tool.

About the stand, I'm pleased how it turned out. Actually it would even make sense to have two of these one on each side, for recording and for smaart/system laptop.

That's really nice. I will be looking into something like this for SC48.

It's great. If I could elevate one on an arm like yours for the laptop then I could put the keyboard on the lower one.

The first time I used the SC48 I put my computer on the shelf for the SC48 on the left side. I thought that the SC48 had a very noisy fan. It turned out that the heat rising off of the SC48 into my computer was causing the fan in my computer to run at a speed that I had never heard it run before. So it is too hot right there to put my computer.

That’s why I wouldn’t use the included shelf to put a computer on.

Do you mean the keyboard for the desk itself or additional keyboard for the laptop? I would suggest to keep the keys for the desk in a drawer, more ergonomic.

hmm, that is strange, the heat should come out of the vent holes at the back of the desk, typically mostly going into the doghouse, should not be a problem on the surface where your laptop is sitting... This is why a doghouse with holes on top for the hot air to escape is a must for SC48. Is your laptop so big that it will reach to where SC48 has the vent holes/XLR inputs?

This was on a demo SC48 and the doghouse lid was made in such a way that there was a gap that let the heat escape. The lid did not overlap the back top of the SC48. Now there is an installed SC48 in this place and there is no doghouse. And yes my laptop is big enough that when firmly on the shelf the very back of it is at or very slightly over the back of the SC48. My newer computer is only about an inch shorter.
